What is a VoIP Home Phone?

Get a VoIP Home phone and say goodbye to costly calls and expensive contracts. Wistec Telecom uses VoIP technology to provide a telephone service over your wired or wireless broadband internet connection. Wistec Telecom can supply either geographic or non-geographic numbers or alternatively you can keep your existing telephone number.

All you need is a reliable internet connection together with a VoIP handset or softphone (Cell Phone).

Reliable internet connections such as 3G/HSDPA, LTE, Fibre and Wistec Wireless should work well.

If you already have a VoIP handset then all you’ll need is a Wistec Telecom VoIP Line. Similarly, if you would like to use the service in conjunction with a VoIP softphone on your mobile device you can.

Our Standard Call Rates

All rates are quoted per-minute. Calls charged in 30-second increments with a minimum of 60 seconds.

Peak – Monday to Friday 7am to 8pm. Off-Peak – all other times.

These rates are effective 1 April 2018. Call rates may change from time to time.

Comparative Call Rates

Note 1: Telkom’s minimum charge is R0.65. Saving calculated on an average mix of long and short.

Other Destinations

Calls to 080 (toll-free) numbers and emergency service numbers (112, 10111, 10117) are free.

Calls to directory enquiries and Telkom operator services (10xx) are charged at the National rate.
